Letter

Robert Smith recently pleaded guilty to charges which had hung over his head for 32 months.  He had originally pleaded not guilty and the prosecution had no evidence.  He should have been able to go to trial and be found not guilty by a jury.

Sadly, with an incompetent lawyer and a  flawed judicial system he was intimidated to the point that he thought it would be easier to just give in.  And he thought it would be easier on me, his mom.  He was wrong. It is very hard and I am lashing out.  I have written a letter to the judge in the case and sent copies of the letter to 18 other persons/organizations.  If any one of them respond I will post it on this site.  Also, if I do not hear from any of them by January 1, 2010 I will send an update letter to each of them voicing my disappointment.

I am also posting the letter on this web site.  I'm not sure how well the discussion page works on this site, but if you read the letter and want to comment feel free to send me an email (carries@elp.rr.com).  If you like I will post your comments - either supportive - or otherwise - on the site.

If you run across any stories which demonstrates how our legal/judicial system works - or not - you may send them to me and I will post them.  Be sure to include where the story came from.
